What does Fin actually do?
Fin is Intercom's customer agent and the most credible product in this comparison. It answers across voice, chat, email, Slack and social, on its own models, trained on its knowledge of customer conversations plus whatever policies you configure. It takes real actions in connected systems, updating accounts, processing payments and refunds, troubleshooting through APIs. It serves both support and inbound sales, and Intercom says it works for more than twelve thousand brands. Pricing is outcome based, from $0.99 a resolution, on top of a seat that starts at $29 a month, with a fourteen day trial and no card needed.
Where does Fin genuinely win?
Support, plainly. If you have a ticket queue, a help centre and customers who email, Fin resolves that work at a price per outcome you can model, inside a helpdesk your team already knows how to run. It handles channels we never will and touches systems we deliberately do not. It is also cheaper to start than we are for that job, and a page that pretended otherwise would be worthless to you. For deflecting repetitive support at volume, buy Fin.
Where does Agent247 do something different?
Fin answers about your product. We operate it. Our agent reads the page the user is looking at, moves them through it and clicks real elements while narrating, so somebody stuck on a screen watches the thing happen rather than reading instructions for it. That is computer use pointed at your own interface, in real time, with the user watching every step. Fin takes actions too, but through APIs in the background: the account gets updated, the refund gets processed, and the person never sees where the setting lives.
The difference shows up most with users who are not going to file a ticket at all. They open a page, cannot find the thing, and leave. A helpdesk never learns they existed. Our support pages are built around that reader.
How do they compare side by side?
| Criteria | Intercom Fin | Agent247 |
|---|---|---|
| Core job | Resolve support conversations | Work the screen with the user, live |
| Channels | Voice, chat, email, Slack, social | Your website |
| Acting on your product | API actions the user does not see | Clicks the real page while they watch |
| Published price | From $0.99 an outcome plus $29 a seat | First hour free, then by the minute |
| Trial | 14 days, no card | The first hour |
Both are in the category matrix with the other eight, and ours is on the pricing page.
So which one should you pick?
Support volume, a help centre, existing customers: Fin, without much hesitation. Visitors who bounce because nobody explains the product: us. Plenty of companies want both, and they do not overlap much, because one lives in the helpdesk and the other lives on the marketing site. If you are weighing the front-of-funnel case, live demos on the real page is the argument in full.
